1. Who we are

Nalla Nikah is a Muslim matrimonial service for Sri Lanka, operated as a brand of I.T. House, a sole proprietorship registered under the Business Names Ordinance (Cap. 149); our registration number is shown in the footer of every page, and our contact details are in section 13. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean I.T. House; “you” means the person using the service.

2. Who may use the service

• You must be at least 18 years old and legally free to marry under Sri Lankan law.
• The service is intended for people genuinely seeking marriage (nikah). It is not a dating or casual introductions service.
• You may hold only one account and one matrimonial profile. Accounts are personal to you.
• A profile may be created on behalf of a family member only with that person's knowledge and consent, and you remain responsible for everything posted.

3. Your account and mobile verification

Registration is by mobile number. We send a one-time password (OTP) by SMS, and your account is created only after that code is verified. Email and a password are optional and may be added later from your account settings.

• Keep your mobile number and any password secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
• Tell us immediately if your number is reassigned or you believe someone else has accessed your account.
• Do not register a mobile number you do not control. SMS charges from your operator, if any, are your own.

4. Your profile and our review

Every matrimonial profile is reviewed by our team before it becomes visible to other members. A profile is pending until approved, and may be rejected if it breaches these terms. Any edit you make to an approved profile returns it to pending and it must be approved again.

• All information you submit must be truthful, current and about a real person — including age, marital status, education, occupation and contact details.
• Do not impersonate anyone, or submit another person's details or photographs without their permission.
• Do not post content that is obscene, abusive, hateful, sectarian, misleading, commercial or unlawful.
• We may approve, reject, edit for clarity, unpublish or remove any profile at our discretion, and we are not obliged to give reasons.

5. Contacting other members

Approved profiles include contact details so that families can speak directly. In exchange, you agree to use those details respectfully and only to explore a genuine marriage proposal.

• Do not copy, export, publish, resell or share another member's details with anyone outside your family discussion of a proposal.
• Do not use the service to send marketing, solicit money, promote other services, or scrape or bulk-collect data.
• Do not continue contacting someone who has asked you to stop.
• Automated access, scraping, framing or reverse engineering of the site is not permitted.

6. What we do not promise

We provide an introduction platform only. We are not a marriage broker, guardian (wali) or agent for any member, and we do not take part in your discussions or in any nikah that follows.

• We do not guarantee that you will find a match, receive responses, or that any proposal will succeed.
• Our review is a good-faith screening of the information submitted. It is not a background check, and we cannot verify every claim a member makes.
• You are responsible for satisfying yourself — with your family, and with your own enquiries — about anyone you approach or accept.
• The service is provided “as is” and may be unavailable at times for maintenance or reasons outside our control.

7. Fees and membership

Access is currently free. Registration, profile creation and browsing approved profiles carry no charge today.

We may introduce a paid membership in future. If we do, the price, billing period and what the membership includes will be shown clearly before you pay, payment will be taken through PayHere (payhere.lk) in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR), and refunds will be handled under our Refund Policy. Existing free accounts will be told in advance if any feature they use becomes paid. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

8. Privacy

How we collect, use and protect your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: profiles are never public, are shown only to signed-in members whose own profile we have reviewed, and are not indexed by search engines.

9. Content you submit

You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, store and display it to other members for the purpose of running the service. The site itself — its name, design, text and code — belongs to I.T. House and may not be copied or reused without permission.

10. Suspension and closing your account

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings; this removes your profile from the listing. We may suspend or terminate an account, without refund of any unused paid period where the breach is serious, if you break these terms, misuse another member's details, submit false information, or put other members at risk.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, we are not liable for the conduct of any member, for the accuracy of information a member provides, for the outcome of any introduction or marriage, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which is nil while the service is free). Nothing here excludes liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The “last updated” date above will change, and material changes will be notified on the site or by SMS. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute. Please raise any complaint with us first — most issues are resolved quickly.
